Business Jet Crashes in Virginia Killing Four People
Autorities Inquire The Crash Reason
On Sunday, a business jet crashed in a remote area in Virginia, killing the pilot and three passengers. After the crash, two fighter jet pilots reported that the pilot of the business jet appeared to be slumped over and unresponsive. Investigations are being conducted by federal investigators in order to resolve the cause of the accident. The wreckage is situated in rough terrain and according to NTSB investigator, Adam Gerhardt, will take approximately three to four days to perform an evidence collection.
Unusual Flight Path
The attention involving this accident was intensified due to the unusual flight path of the aircraft over Washington, D.C. before the crash. Military aircraft also caused a sonic boom throughout parts of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The military reported that aircraft traveled at supersonic speeds, giving explanation for the sonic boom. In addition, they used flares to capture the pilot’s attention. Additional Air Traffic Control audio captured voices sent by military pilots trying to communicate with the plane’s pilot. Factors such as the plane, weather conditions, and pilot qualifications will be deliberated in the examination to resolve what may have caused the crash.
Condolences and Fatalities
The White House conveyed its condolences to the family of the deceased involved in the crash. It was reported that four bodies were recovered from the crash; however, their identities have not been released yet. Investigations are ongoing to determine what could have led to such a devastating incident.
