Tool Announces North American Tour for Autumn 2023
Progressive rock band Tool is set to hit the road this fall for their six-week North American tour, after having announced summer festival gigs. The band will perform new non-festival shows across North America in support of their first full-length album release in 13 years, Fear Inoculum, starting from October 3 in Loveland, Colorado. This announcement follows their first Canadian shows since 2019. The tour will also include performances in Salt Lake City, Spokane, Portland, Vancouver, Calgary, St. Paul, Milwaukee, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, and in Toronto on November 20-21, before wrapping up. Tickets for non-festival shows will be available for sale beginning Friday, June 9th, at 10 a.m. local time. However, Tool Army memberships recently opened up with exclusive pre-sale tickets for members will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Thursday, June 8.
Keenan’s Appearance at Daytona Beach’s Welcome to Rockville Festival
Much of the excitement surrounding Tool’s Fall tour is due to the infamous appearance of the band’s vocalist, Maynard James Keenan, who wore what appeared to be drag attire, during the Welcome to Rockville Festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Understandably, this caught many fans’ attention, as it seemed to be a response to the recent laws signed by Florida’s Governor, Ron DeSantis, that ban minors from attending drag shows. However, Keenan revealed in an interview with The Messenger that it was purely a personal choice, and that his stage costume is nothing new to him.
“I’ve been cross-dressing since long before these clickbait-junkie dupes were out of diapers, and that’s really all there is to it. I’m not a political fella; it had nothing to do with Florida,” Keenan said.
