Transforming Neighbourhoods Through Art: Live Love Louder Receives Funding from Hydro One
A Positive Impact on Sudbury
Live Love Louder, a not-for-profit organization based in Greater Sudbury, has recently received a generous grant of $25,000 from Hydro One’s Energizing Life Community Fund. This funding has enabled the organization to undertake two large-scale interactive mural projects in various neighbourhoods across Sudbury.
The executive director of Live Love Louder, Wallace Gillard, expressed gratitude for the grant and highlighted the transformative impact of these projects. Gillard stated, “This grant from Hydro One will provide our organization with everything required to paint these murals in a number of neighbourhoods across Sudbury. These projects transform spaces previously littered with graffiti and bare concrete playgrounds with vibrant artwork, positive messaging, and colourful games that promote physical movement, collaboration, and active play.”
The Support of Hydro One
Hydro One, a leading electricity transmission and distribution company in Ontario, is proud to support Live Love Louder and its mission to create a visually brighter future for the community. Rob Globocki, the director of customer care at Hydro One, emphasized the significance of these murals in instilling a sense of community pride and inspiring children to be themselves. He stated, “Live Love Louder instils a sense of community pride which inspires kids to be kids and reflects the ideas of the residents who live there.”
Community Collaboration and Pride
The Mayor of Greater Sudbury, Paul Lefebvre, commended Live Love Louder for its empowering initiatives within the city. He stated, “Live Love Louder is continuing to empower residents to work together to achieve positive change in their own backyard. I thank Hydro One for their support, and for helping to create these shared spaces that reflect the diversity, creativity, and character of the city.”
One of the notable aspects of Live Love Louder’s projects is the active involvement of community members. Anyone can stop by one of the upcoming locations and be a part of the transformation by picking up a paintbrush and contributing to the mural painting process. The organization’s Instagram account (@livelovelouderofficial) provides updates on the projects and allows community members to stay informed.
