Epic Celebrates World Teachers’ Day Announcing 2023-2024 Cohort of Educator Ambassadors
Inspiring a Love of Reading and Unlocking the Potential of Every Child
In celebration of World Teachers’ Day, Epic, the leading digital reading platform for kids, has welcomed 250 educators to its Epic Educator Ambassador Program for the 2023-2024 school year. This program aims to inspire a love of reading and learning in students while also sharing best practices across the teaching profession. The sixth annual cohort of educators is a diverse group hailing from 41 states and 21 countries, emphasizing the importance of building professional learning communities.
Epic serves a wide range of teachers and students worldwide, with over two million teachers and 75 million children utilizing its platform. Through access to thousands of high-quality ebooks, audiobooks, Read-To-Me books, original content, and videos in multiple languages, Epic supports students’ learning in various subjects, including reading, history, geography, the arts, science, and math.
Fostering a Community of Educators
Katy Jao, Sr. Manager of Educator Relations and Partnerships at Epic, a former educator herself, expresses her excitement and honor at supporting the ambassadors in a community where teachers can share insights, gain support, and spark new ideas that bring joy and wonderment into classrooms worldwide. The educator ambassadors in this year’s cohort are highly qualified and celebrated, including Teacher of the Year award winners, published authors, and renowned presenters. Their passion for lifelong learning will undoubtedly inspire teachers and students within the Epic community.
The Epic Educator Ambassador Program serves educators primarily teaching Pre-K through 6th grade, although some ambassadors also have experience teaching middle school and beyond. The program encompasses various roles, including general education, special education, technology, librarians, ELL educators, bilingual educators, administrators, gifted and talented teachers, STEM teachers, and reading specialists.
This program not only provides an inspirational network and platform for educators to share their expertise and best practices but also benefits the educational community through celebrations and acknowledgements. Moreover, Epic Educator Ambassadors play an essential role in influencing the future development of the platform by providing their expertise and feedback through surveys, interviews, and advisory groups.
Expanding Access to Reading with Epic School Plus
In response to the feedback from previous years’ Educator Ambassadors, Epic is excited to introduce its latest offering, Epic School Plus, which is now available to schools and districts worldwide. Epic School Plus provides unlimited access to over 40,000 books, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This expansion aims to empower educators and students with a wide variety of content to foster a love of reading and enjoyment.
Norman Basch, VP of Business Development at Epic, highlights the importance of listening to the needs of schools, teachers, and students using Epic. The insights from these educators are critical to the continued success and widespread implementation of Epic in schools.
